Hmm that means the look and feel of the site play a minor role when it comes to the popularity. As long as it it doing something cool and crazzy people will visit there and share it with others. Sometime it is amazing how things picked up out of nowhere. One of the site I always think about is milliondollarhome page. Simple crazzy little idea made him more than a million. Is it luck?
The Thing is if you have Traffic then SEO does not Matter because you Have Many Returning Visitors and Many of the SEO Factors like Page loading Time and Page Size do not matter and you will still Rank in Search Engines . But if you Don’t have much Traffic then these factors are very Important in your Campaign .
Well i don’t think that digg is ugly!
I do because it always uses Rich media Ads and it’s Slow Plus you earn Nothing from using Digg you are Better off using a site where you Submit and make Some money from Revenue Sharing
